White Collar Criminal Defense

The difficult distinction for most white collar cases is that they are complex, and they are pursued by the Department of Justice. The United States Department of Justice is the largest and most powerful law firm in the history of mankind. And they cheat. And they are led by some of the most ambitious and self-serving lawyers you can imagine, who are appointed by politicians.

Mistakes

Most clients consider the large law firm full of former DOJ lawyers. Why on earth is that a mistake? It is a mistake because you are being prosecuted under federal law, in federal court, before a federal judge. You cannot play the same game and win. You cannot try the government’s case better. You have to do something different, you have to find and run for daylight. But what about scale? John Conard, as national trial faculty, has colleagues all over the country. He has successfully run numerous 2 to 12 lawyer teams, hand selected for each case. Everyone earns their seat at the table for today’s work, not yesterday’s medals.

Why John?

The truth is, a lot of lawyers claim a lot of things. How do you tell the difference?

  • Awards? Some are real, some are simply window dressing. John Conard has won all the awards from Super Lawyers, to Board Certification, to Best Lawyers, and so forth.
  • Trial Results? Only a handful of attorneys have actual trial acquittals in the heavy white collar charges. John Conard has actual not guilty verdicts, in federal court, against the Government of the United States of the Charges of Conspiracy, Wire Fraud, Mail Fraud, Tax Fraud, and Money Laundering.
  • Speaking engagements?  Any lawyer worth their salt is invited to speak at bar engagements. John Conard has been national faculty at the most prestigious trial college in the country. Most of the other lawyers you will talk to have not been accepted into the college where John Conard teaches.

But What Matters? A word from John Conard:

I love the challenge of these cases. I love the complexity, and I love the environment. I understand that in America it has become fashionable to attack the successful, to sneer while saying the title “CEO”. I disagree with all of that; I believe that American businessmen and entrepreneurs are the engine that drives the world, but sadly also the scapegoat for dishonest politicians. I am on your side, I am here to defend you, I am the tip of the spear.
